Welcome Back!

Welcome Back!

A big Welcome from the Co-Directors of Children & Family Ministries of St. Mark's! We hope you all had a fantastic summer. We are excited to be back for another great year. Our mission is to partner with you in the spiritual formation of your children. Our office is located in the Children's Library across from the Preschool Office. Please feel free to drop in and browse our selection of children's books. We have a great collection of quality children's literature, including many age-appropriate Bible story books. This year our monthly newsletter will be sent electronically. If you would prefer a paper copy, please email Julie Poyer at jcpoyer1@yahoo.com and we'll be happy to send one home in your child's bookbag. Please let us know if we can support you in any way.

Chapel

Chapel

Chapel is a vital part of our Preschool program. Each week the 2 year old, 3 year old, 4 year old and Transition classes will attend Chapel. Each age group has their own 15 minute Chapel time in the Sanctuary. Every month we will focus on a different theme. The children will hear stories, sing songs, and learn about God's loving presence in their lives. Chapel is led by one of the staff members of St. Mark's - Pastor Ben, Pastor Lib, Miss Julie (our Director of Music) or ourselves - Ms. Julie and Ms. Jen. We will include the Chapel theme, suggested parent/child activities and a reading list in our monthly email newsletter - Notes from Children & Family.

September 2009: Respect

September 2009: Respect

" Each of you must respect your mother and father..."
Leviticus 19:3

This month in Chapel we will focus on respect. Respect is an attitude of caring about people and treating them with kindness. Respect means valuing others and ourselves. When we are respectful we treat others as we want to be treated. Respect includes honoring the rules of our family and school. We will read different versions of Noah's Ark and talk about how Noah respected and obeyed God.
